Jarrod Nation - Chair
Owner and Managing Director of Salters Hire Tasmania, employing over 20 people (in Hobart
and Launceston) and trading for over 80 years. Jarrod spent nearly two decades working in
Melbourne and abroad, building businesses in education, healthcare, contact centres and
technology. Jarrod has extensive corporate governance experience and is the founding
Chairman of Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision.
Tom McDevitt - Director
Operator of the Princes Wharf No. 1. Tom has contributed to the management operation of
over 200 events at the venue in the past seven years, including significant input and
knowledge in the past success of the Taste of Tasmania. Tom has a strong relationship with
key suppliers and stakeholders crucial to run an event such as ‘Tasmania's Taste of
Summer’. PW1 is a member of TICT, DST, BET and Tom is a Director of Business Events
Tasmania and proud member of the Hobart City Council Event Committee and the Venue
Management Association (VMA).
Stephen McMullen - Director & CEO
Formerly the General Manager of Blundstone Arena, Tasmania’s premier sports and conference
hub. Stephen is also a well-known and respected venue manager who has delivered over 500
international and national events including a Cricket World Cup and COAG. He actively
engages with stakeholders, develops plans and implements them operationally to deliver
successful events on and off-site. Stephen is an Accredited Member of the Venue Management
Association (Asia and Pacific), International Association of Venue Managers, and
representative of the recently formed Live Entertainment Industry Forum.
Ben Targett - Director
Managing Director of THN Hospitality Pty Ltd, Chief Executive Officer of Hobart’s The Old
Woolstore Apartment Hotel and Hadley’s Orient Hotel. Former start-up CEO of Destination
Southern Tasmania, Advisor to the Tasmanian Premier in the portfolio areas of Tourism,
Events, Hospitality and Sport & Recreation and THA Board Member. Currently Ben is a
Director of Cricket Tasmania, the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania (TICT) and start-up
tourism and hospitality training organisation Visitor Experience Training (VXT).
Alan Nelson
Group General Manager of Hobart’s The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel and Hadley’s Orient
Hotel. A qualified Chef who has worked in restaurants and hotels around Hobart before
spending 12 years in airline catering in Hobart, the Gold Coast and Darwin, including as a
Kitchen Manager and Food Services Manager.
